KCAP Substation

Miller

Description

10,000 KVA (5.6 MW) Substation consisting of three substations plus a sparing substation.

Challenge

This substation had to be completed quickly and efficiently. An off-site manufacturing solution was decided upon in order to decrease project timelines.

Solution

⦁ Flex Air completed this project Off-site while helping with the installation process on an accelerated project timeline.
⦁ The substation consists of low and medium voltage transformers, Switch gear and factory installed tiebuss.

Ford Mobile Charging Station

Description

480V battery charger substation.

Challenge

To construct a substation modular system to work around the other demo and construction going on in the location.

Solution

⦁ Design and engineered a 2-section enclosure for rapid deployment.
⦁ All level 1 and 2 commissions were done in the manufacturing facility prior to shipping.
⦁ Weight 115,000 lbs.

GM Yuma

GM Yuma

Description

Battery Charging Sub Station.

Challenge

Complete the substation 4 weeks after gear arrival. The electrical equipment was delayed in manufacturing by the gear manufacturer, and the general contractor needed to turn the project over to GM within 6 weeks of receiving gear.

Solution

⦁ Flex Air designed and engineered a modular enclosure for the gear.
⦁ The enclosure was ready on the manufacturing floor when the gear arrived.
⦁ Shipped a “turnkey” unit within 4 weeks of receiving gear.

Description

300 Horsepower steam boiler plant for automotive manufacturer application.

Challenge

The company needed a vendor to expedite delivery and install of a new boiler plant to replace the aging infrastructure. The entire project timeline was accelerated.

Solution

⦁ Flex Air was contracted to finish/complete the design of the steam plant and source boilers.
⦁ Support installation within an accelerated project timeline.
⦁ Supply (2) 150 HP steam boilers.
⦁ Complete with feed water tank and steam manifolds.

Description

Medium Voltage Switch House.

Challenge

Construction Schedule Constraints.

Solution

⦁ Flex Air designed and built a modular switch house to go in place of the standard pre-engineered building.
⦁ Deployed a 4,956 sq. – 14 section modular building containing 3 medium voltage gear line ups.
⦁ Completed with tie buss, cable buss (for field connection), battery room, and HVAC solution.
⦁ Delivered a “turnkey” solution and saved 16 weeks on the job site construction schedule.

Description

A 2700 sqft. custom mechanical platform and penthouse with an integrated chilled water system, hot water system, compressed air, steam, general and lab air handlers.

Challenge

Integrate all systems (mechanical) with limited interference to the building.

⦁ Complete offsite build which allowed for reduced onsite labor and a shorter project schedule.
⦁ Utilized all 3 Mi Divisions: Performance Fabrication, Flex Air design and engineered Mechanical and Electrical skids, and MIR sourced lab equipment.

Description

Large scale manufacturing facility with over 2,200,000 CFM deployed across 42 custom outdoor, direct-fired heating, and chilled water cooling units. All the power, controls, and piping were complete for single-point connection by the installing contractor.

Description

A total of 3.3 Million CFM – (53) AHU for a large-scale new paint shop building. Designing efficient and effective filtering and conditioning for paint process.

Challenge

Size and scope of the project with an aggressive project schedule.

⦁ Design and deliver AHU for the first large-scale paint shop.
⦁ Worked closely with paint shop engineering team to make sure that design was approved to meet the job site schedule.
⦁ Developed filtering, conditioning, and humidification for an ideal paint shop process.
